Freshwater cage culture operations in PotoharProject Overview
Field-based operational research conducted under the Punjab Fisheries Department development scheme focused on the economic and biological feasibility of cage aquaculture in freshwater reservoirs across the Potohar region.
Operational Scope & Responsibilities
- Water Chemistry Telemetry: Monitored real-time water quality parameters including dissolved oxygen, pH, water temperature, hardness, and total ammonia.
- Husbandry & Biosecurity: Supervised feeding regimes, fish handling, and surveillance protocols against common parasitic and freshwater pathogens.
- Production Metrics: Evaluated feed conversion ratios (FCR) and biological growth data to draft administrative operational assessments.
